Tough Trident

Williams and Wilshier have been operating for about 25 years running a fleet of 55 logging trucks which includes 11 Owner Drivers and a mix of trucks from Kenworth, a few Macks, Scania's, Hino's and Isuzu's. They currently work in the Bay of plenty and East Coast regions of the North Island, New Zealand.

Recently Williams and Wilshier added something a little bit different to their fleet.  This "New Breed" Mack Trident is driven by Murray Allison who started his driving career with Williams and Wilshier ten years ago. According to Mr Warwick Wilshier  Murray has become an excellent operator who takes great pride in his truck and his work. Mr Wilshier also added that Murray is well deserving of a new truck and he hopes that Murray will be with the company long enough to wear the Mack out and try another new one.

The new Trident is fitted with a Mack MP8 500 Horsepower Engine and has a Eaton RTLO 20918B box. It has Meritor RT46-160GP rear axles on Mack AP460 suspension.
The trailer is a 2007 Patchell 4 axle multi bolster running on ROR 19.5 axles and MB310 air suspension. The truck is also fitted with TRT Central Tire Inflation and the whole unit has SI Lodec Scales.

Murray is very happy with the new Mack and would like to mention the service from Truck Stops is awesome.

I'd like to thank Mr Warwick Wilshier and Murray Allison for the information and some of the photos for the article. Thank you also to Andrew Geddes who also supplied photos for this article.
